The Event
On August 12, 2026, a breathtaking total solar eclipse will sweep across the Arctic, Greenland, Iceland, and Spain, offering a rare and unforgettable spectacle. Total solar eclipses are extraordinary celestial events, often a once-in-a-lifetime experience for those in their path.
This eclipse is particularly special for Iceland, as it marks the first total eclipse visible from the country since June 30, 1954, and the first seen from Reykjavík since June 17, 1433.
With the next eclipse not set to touch Iceland until June 26, 2196, this is a truly historic moment—one not to be missed!
