Paris Fashion Week

World renowned, exclusive events at the forefront of innovation and creativity in fashion can be found during Paris Fashion Week. Dates vary according to the season, with Men and Haute Couture in January and June/July; Women in March and September/October.

March

Fetes de la Gastronomie

A three-day festival of French food at restaurants, markets, and ateliers across Paris. Gourmet events include tastings, picnics, masterclasses, and special market days throughout the city.

May/June

Roland-Garros Tennis Tournament (The French Open)

The Roland-Garros Tennis Tournament, also known as the French Open, is held over 2 weeks at the Stade Roland-Garros beginning in late May each year. Grand Slam tennis matches are played on outdoor clay courts. Tickets are usually available beginning in mid-March.

Fête de la Musique

Every June on the summer solstice, stages are set up all over Paris for Fête de la Musique. With live singers, bands, DJs, drummers, and amateur musicians, music takes over the city’s major squares, parks, and the streets of Paris.

Paris Pride

Paris Pride is one of the biggest and best celebrations of its kind in the world. Hundreds of thousands march in support of LGBTQ+ rights. There is music, a carnival procession, and in the evening the party continues at bars and clubs in the city.

Versailles Masquerade Ball

The Grand Masked Ball is an unforgettable festival night held in the magnificent Chateau de Versailles grounds. The dress code is full baroque costume and masks–and guests will enjoy artists, dancers, performers, and DJs all through the evening.

July/August

Bastille Day

Bastille Day celebrations begin with a military parade along the Champs-Elysees marking the storming of the Bastille during the French Revolution. In the evening, there is a dazzling fireworks display from the base of the Eiffel Tower.

Cinema en Plein Air a la Villette

At dusk, free movie screenings begin on the lawns of Parc de la Villette in the 19th arrondissement. French and international films are shown at the annual summer Open Air Film Cinema Festival.

Rock en Seine

A three-day rock music festival at Parc National de Domaine de Saint-Cloud, west of Paris. All styles of rock from punk to metal, to pop-rock, Britpop, and new-wave are represented on multiple stages. Past headliners include Foo Fighters, Radiohead, Nine Inch Nails.

August/September

Jazz a la Villette

Celebrating the giants in jazz history and modern jazz, as well as hip-hop and world music at several concert halls around Paris. Events include film screenings, exhibitions, and masterclasses.

October

QATAR PRIX DE L’ARC DE TRIOMPHE

This prestigious horse race is held at the Hippodrome de Longchamp, west of Paris.

Nuit Blanche

A nighttime arts festival with landmark cultural centers like the Louvre, the Eiffel Tower, and Pompidou Center open late. This art party features exhibits and installations by artists from around the world.

Fêtes des Vendanges de Monmartre

The Grape Harvest Festival celebrates the wine produced by a private Monmartre vineyard. More than 40 bars and restaurants participate, and there are special activities including street entertainment, tastings, dance parties, and exhibitions.

Salon du Chocolat

Chocolate lovers will revel in the world’s biggest celebration of cocoa at Paris Expo, Porte de Versailles. Tastings, workshops, and exhibits feature hundreds of the world’s greatest chocolatiers and pastry chefs.

November

Pitchfork Festival

Held in the Grande Halle de la Villette, this U.S.-imported music festival features the best in international pop, alt rock, and hip-hop for three nights on multiple stages.

Fete du Beaujolais Nouveau

The third Thursday in November is Beaujolais Nouveau Day in France! Each year parties are held to celebrate its arrival. You will find Beaujolais Nouveau in virtually every wine bar in Paris.

December

Decked out for the holidays, Paris never looks more magical. Twinkling lights, festive store windows, holiday markets, and ice-skating rinks at some iconic locations around the city, make Paris delightful in December!
